Summary:
My laboratory investigates novel approaches and therapeutics for cancer detection and therapy, focusing mainly on prostate cancer. For cancer detection, in a joint effort with researchers from College of Engineering at UC, we are developing nano-devices that can detect metastasis and deliver therapeutic agents. For cancer therapy, in collaboration with researchers from the Computational Biology Core and Department of Pathology at UC, we are identifying and developing novel therapeutic small molecules targeting molecules and pathways critical for cancer growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis. The computer-aided drug design, molecular and animal imaging, and various molecular, biochemical, and biophysical tools and technologies are used in these studies. Moreover, the novel devices and therapeutics developed will be evaluated in cell culture and in animal tumor models.
