William Ridgway, MDMy major areas of investigative interest are autoimmunity, immunogenetics, T cells, autoimmune (Type I) diabetes and autoimmune liver disease (Primary biliary cirrhosis). I am the Principal Investigator on two N.I.H. grants, “The Pathogenesis of Autoimmunity in a Murine Model of Primary Biliary Cirrhosis” and "Immunogenetic Control of NOD CD4+ T cell Tolerance". Our goal is to determine the immunogenetic mechanisms of PBC-like autoimmune liver disease arising in the NOD.c3c4 mouse, and to dissect genetic control of loss of T cell tolerance in nonobese diabetic (NOD) and NOD congenic mice.
