Admissions
Prospective students should have a strong background in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. Applicants are required to take the GRE and maintain an above average GPA while attending undergraduate/ graduate school. Students with a GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) and a combined Verbal and Quantitative GRE of 1100 or above are most competitive for acceptance. However, students with research experience are especially encouraged to apply. The Analytical Writing score will be reviewed and weighted appropriately per application. Applicants whose native language is one other than English must demonstrate proficiency in English by achieving a minimum score of 620 (paper based test) or 260 (computer based test) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
We strongly encourage you to send all supporting application documents by February 1 of the anticipated year of matriculation.
After a preliminary screening, selected applicants may be scheduled to visit the program. This visit provides an opportunity for the applicant to meet faculty and current graduate students, and to view the research facilities of the Departments of Pathology and Internal Medicine. It also gives members of the Graduate Program Committee a chance to assess the prospective student.
